The Sacrament of Confirmation takes place during the junior year of high school in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. St. Dominic usually has a late spring date for the sacrament and so preparation begins at the end of sophomore year with an informational/pre-registration meeting in May of the sophomore year. Those pre-registering are able to begin certain preparations during the summer and then complete registration in September of the junior year. The program follows the requirements of the archdiocese and includes instructional classes, service hours, and a retreat. CYO membership is not required for Confirmation, but definitely enhances the experience of preparing for the sacrament within a strong peer faith community.
