January 2009 Newsletter www.stdominiccyo.org
Youth minister’s message I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and restful Christmas holiday. With the start of the second semester comes a new calendar of CYO activities for Spring 2009. Read through this newsletter and the calendar insert carefully – with all this advance notice, there’s no excuse for not participating in the best Catholic youth ministry around. If you haven’t participated in anything in awhile, expect a call from me. I’d like to find out what’s been going on with you and invite you to make time for the CYO this semester. May God bless your New Year!
Committee Meetings Youth Board – Jan 4 @ 6:30 PM – St. Dominic Teen CROSS – Jan. 5 @ 7 PM – St Catherine Scrapbook – TBA CORE – Jan 14 @ 6:00 PM – Aquinas Hall
Adoration “Teen Hour” Reminder The Eucharistic Adoration Chapel in Aquinas Hall is open, and the CYO is committed to the 7- 8 PM hour on Wednesdays. While there are members of the Youth Board and Peer Ministry Team there each week, we strongly encourage others to stop in for any amount of time. We can all use quiet time for prayer and just to be in the Lord’s presence. We want to see YOU there! Youth Board and Peer Ministry Team members are reminded about their commitments to the weekly hour.
Permission Form Reminder! Although permission forms are NOT needed for events held at St. Dominic, there ARE required for any activity held away from the parish. Permission forms are usually enclosed with the newsletter each month. Blank forms can also always be downloaded from the website at www.stdominiccyo.org . If you use a blank one, just complete the event information from the newsletter.
